This video was filmed and recorded LIVE on December 22, 2017 at Rose Avenue Jr. Public School in St. James Town, Toronto.

This video and the accompanying photos document the collaboration of Euterpe: Music Is The Key and Reaching Out Through Music (ROTM), two important Toronto based music charities. The collaboration was spearheaded by ROTM’s founder John Loosemore, who wanted ROTMs focal point, the St. James Town Children’s Choir (SJTCC), to have the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the esteemed musicians of Euterpe’s flagship group Ensemble Vivant (EV). Featured are two live, interactive music education performance programs for over 500 students at Rose Avenue Public School: K to Grade 3; and Grades 4 to 6. For part of each of these programs, Ensemble Vivant was joined by the SJTCC. The student audience participated in the programs in a variety of interactive ways.

During the evening Ensemble Vivant performed a concert for the community, and the SJTCC joined EV for part of this concert. Bringing community together through beautiful music-making is a lasting and enriching experience, an opportunity that most people never have. As a result, people feel they are valued community members as they share this joyous experience with family and friends while making new friends too. The music unites everyone in attendance. These opportunities were provided free-of-charge by Euterpe: Music Is The Key and Reaching Out Through Music.
