Mentorship
Children are inspired to want to play a musical instrument, to learn music, to make music with others and to hear more Classical, Jazz and related musical styles. This music and these musical activities are known to be immensely beneficial for the developing brain, for all areas of positive social development, for mental health, overall health and well-being and more.
Euterpe: Music Is The Key’s unique scientific studies, designed specifically for us by leading neuroscientist on music and the mind, Dr. Laurel Trainor, reveal the exuberant reactions and comments from these children who have poured their hearts out expressing how profoundly our music has affected them.
Comments from young children such as:
“I’ve never heard music that makes me imagine stories. Your music is the very best!”
“This music lifts us up and makes us all happy and healthy inside and out.”
“This music took me to a beautiful place that I’ve never been to before and I never want to leave that place.”
“On a scale of 1 – 100, I say this musical experience easily gets a Trillion.”
“This music is necessary for our mental health because we all need to get rid of stress and relax and this music does that and it also makes us very happy.”
Part of Euterpe’s commitment to children who experience our programs is providing instruments and lessons for those children who reach out to us expressing their desire to play a specific instrument. Children who reach out to us are passionate about doing exactly what they saw and heard throughout our program: great players making great music together. We stay involved in these children’s musical journeys, assisting them on an on-going basis, making sure that they are receiving important musical opportunities.
Yamaha Canada Music Ltd., with whom we have been privileged to have a long-standing rich relationship, has always been eager to collaborate with Euterpe: Music Is The Key to help underserved children realize their musical dreams.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), Euterpe: Music Is The Key recently brought its invaluable program to dozens of underserved schools in Toronto and Brampton.
